Recently, I went back-to-school shopping with my mom. And, no, I didn’t get notebooks or pencils; I got items for my apartment and some new clothes. I decided I would get the minor items, such as notebooks, when I am back at school.
A couple of weeks ago, my mom and I went to three stores. We went to Target, The Dollar Store, and HomeGoods. We first made a stop at Target, where I picked up a shower curtain, a colander, and some plates. We then proceeded to The Dollar Tree, where I got food storage containers, tongs, and other random kitchenware. The great thing about going to The Dollar Store is that I was able to get several items for a lot less than I would if I went somewhere else to get those items. The Dollar Store, in my opinion, is underrated. You can get candy there for a dollar! How much better can that get? Wed always load up on candy while there!
We also went to HomeGoods to pick up another item for my kitchen. I got a chopper! I know this does not sound like the most exciting thing, but I think it is an essential item and will help me chop up veggies for my salads.
My mom and I, for the past several weeks, have been making lots of trips to Target. I know I explained earlier that I got some items for my bathroom, but I also got several clothing items. I got: two pairs of shorts, a jean jacket, a pair of jeans, a skirt, a tank top, and a pair of shoes. I bought these items because I needed new clothes, and Target has stepped it up. Their clothes are trendy, cute, well made, and most importantly, affordable. Target has a couple new clothing lines that are giving Target a whole new look. I personally find Target one of the best stores around . It is a one-stop shop for cleaning supplies, clothes, and food. Target is making trendy clothes much more affordable, especially for a broke college student. The best tip to saving money while in college is to shop at dollar stores for certain items and buy clothes at Target, or even go thrift shopping. Clothes do not have to be expensive to be trendy and cute. So, try shopping at Target instead of Urban Outfitters. No one will even know your clothes are from Target!
